The latest news from the American Farm Heritage Museum:

The museum will be closed during the winter months, from Oct. 27 until May 10. We will re-open in May with all new displays. Keep checking back on our Web site for all the latest news and upcoming events!

The 2007 Outhouse and Fall Festival was held Oct. 13 and attracted many guests from all over the region.

Everyone agreed that the Outhouse Festival was a real gas and we were flushed with visitors.

We gave away a tractor!

The AFHM held a raffle for a 77 Oliver Tractor during the 2007 Heritage Days event. Judy Winsel of Carlinville, Ill. went home as the happy winner of the tractor.

The AFHM would like to thank Norman and Esther Schneider for donating this wonderful tractor for the fund-raising raffle.

The 2007 Heritage Days show went great! A huge thanks to everyone who helped.

And in other AFHM news:

  • The museum would like to get some volunteers to sit inside the building and greet visitors. These "building sitters" are needed for Saturdays during the spring, summer, and fall months and would work in shifts from 8:30 a.m. to noon and noon to 3:30 p.m. Call (618) 664-3050 to be put on the schedule.
